Gilpin Park Playground and Social Picnic area is now open and ready to be enjoyed!

Earlier this year we asked the community to tell us what they would like to see in Gilpin Park. Most people said they enjoy the natural feel of the park and do not want to see significant change. We received clear requests to renew the playground, provide a public toilet, improve picnic facilities and increase tree canopy and planting for habitat. We also received strong support for introducing more water in to the park. A playground and picnic area concept plan was prepared and shared with the community for feedback which closed on Sunday 23 January 2022.

The final plan was then made available for final community feedback prior to Monday 12 February 2022. Works commenced in late February and continued until late September 2022. The park was officially opened by Wurundjeri Elder Uncle Tony Garvey.
