Martin

runs a business

My business needs more garbage bins but doesn't need a bin for food waste.

In early 2020, the Victorian Government announced that all local council waste services will transition to a four-bin service to reduce waste to landfill, improve the quality of recyclables and have a system that we can rely on.

This change will see the introduction of a new ‘glass only’ recycling stream and a food and garden organics (FOGO) service for all households in Victoria.

Businesses using Council’s waste service, either through paying the waste charge or using our Commercial Plus service, will be affected by these changes.

We understand that businesses all have different needs. Some businesses, like Martin's, do not need a FOGO bin for food waste, while others, like cafes and restaurants, may have lots of food waste. Businesses with a lot of waste may need their bins picked up more often.

We are reviewing business waste entitlements as part of our policy review. This is your chance to have a say about how our waste service could be improved for businesses.

Which of the proposed options are best for your business?

As a business, would you use Council's waste service if any of the proposed changes are implemented?

As a business, how would these changes affect you?

Thank you for completing our survey.

Your feedback will help us draft an updated Kerbside Waste Service and Charges Policy that we will present later in 2021.
