Bicycle lane trials
We’re trialling ways to make it easier and safer for our Moreland community to walk and cycle around their local neighbourhood
These trials allow us to gather community feedback, research effectiveness, and optimise our long-term plans for improving road and cycling safety in Moreland.
Separated bicycle lane trial - Northumberland Road, Pascoe Vale
In June 2021, we installed trial separated bicycle lanes in Northumberland Road as well as other sites in Pascoe Vale to help create a "Coburg to Glenroy Bicycle Link".
This new low-stress cycling route is envisioned to be a connected, safe and efficient route suitable for bike riders of all confidence levels and connects local shops, schools, open space and community facilities.
Opportunities to have your say
These projects are being delivered as trials, using materials that can be modified or removed depending on the outcomes of the trials.
We invite you to share your feedback and experiences of walking and cycling in Moreland using our new separated bike lanes and shared zones.
Your feedback and ideas will help us to monitor these trials and adjust plans before any permanent decisions are made.
These trials are planned to end in July 2022, Council to consider the future of the trial based on technical investigations, research and data analysis, as well as the outcomes of our community engagement.
