Council has purchased the properties at 41-43 Service Street in Coburg as part of Moreland’s ‘Park Close To Home’ Strategy.

We will be creating a new park in this space for the local community to enjoy.

A draft concept plan

Some great ideas were forwarded to Council last year as inspiration for this new local park and despite some obvious delays, we are now happy to present our concept to you for your comment and feedback up until late February!

Please explore the plan and contribute your feedback in the suggestion tool below. There are more images in the document library.

Your suggestions shaped the draft plan

The community provided some great suggestions with the need for lots of trees, shade and green space being the dominant theme. Requests for lots of seating, a shelter, communal spaces, water play, productive gardens, a playground with equipment for a broad ranges of ages and abilities as well as appropriate amenities such as bike parking, bins and a drink fountain were also high on the list of requests.

Site history incorporated

There was also an obvious interest in the history of this site and providing informational signage for to the community to share this history; from recent family ownership, back to dairy farming and for the understanding and acknowledgement of the local Wurundjuri Woi Wurrung people, local indigenous plants and animals.

Council have done their best to accommodate the above and more within this new park concept design.

We sincerely thank you for your patience through what has been a difficult 2021 for many and we look forward to hearing your comments and feedback.
