We're creating a new park at 1-11 West Street and 29-31 Breese Street in Brunswick as part of 'A Park Close to Home' project, and this new park needs a name!

The new park will include trees; adventure play elements, indigenous art and plantings and more.

Two name options for the new park at West Street were raised by the community during consultations in September 2019. These names relate to the history, heritage and character of Brunswick.

Project update

Between December 2019 and January 2020 we invited the community to vote on a preferred name for the new park at West Street Brunswick. Votes could be placed via written submission, email submission or by voting through our Conversations Moreland website.

Voting closed on Friday 24 January 2020 and all votes were counted. The name with the most votes was Bulleke-bek Park.

A report about the outcomes of phase two consultation on the Name Your Park in West Street Brunswick project went to Moreland Council in February 2020.

In March 2020 the State Government gazetted and adopted the name Bulleke-bek Park for the park in West Street.
