Background
In November last year Council adopted the Domestic Animal Management Plan 2021-2025 (DAMP) that outlines Merri-bek Council’s plan for managing cats and dogs in our community.
While we were developing the Domestic Animal Management Plan and the Merri-bek Nature Plan we heard from our community that cat confinement was important. Councillors agreed to exploring a cat curfew at Merri-bek.
What is a cat curfew?
A cat curfew means cats are not allowed outside of your property at certain times. At Merri-bek we are considering 2 types of curfew.
